The Yoikigen Brewery is located in Kiyone, Soja City, a thriving tourist area known as gKibi-jih where there are many ancient tombs and historic sites.  Surrounded by a brightly-coloured countryside covered in lotus flowers, cherry blossoms and peach blossoms, the brewery has the Takahashi River on its west and, to the east, is Mt Fukuyama, the first of a range of mountains where both Akebono rice and the famous Omachi sake brewersf rice are grown.

While not so well known as a sake brewing region in Japan, it has a very long history with Kibi sake having been written about in the Manyoushu, the oldest collection of japanese poetry compiled in the middle of the 8th Century. Sake brewing in this region continues to prosper and our brewery has over 100 years of history behind it, having been founded in 1907.
Our main brand is gYoikigenh, named after the mellow, tipsy feeling you get after drinking sake. Our sake is produced by hand on a small scale at low temperatures and we even polish our rice in-house. We aim to produce sake that evokes the pure, delicious flavour of rice while enhancing the flavours of the food it accompanies so you will never tire of drinking it. We also produce and sell a range of shochu and liqueurs.
